I drove over 200 miles today. We went to Brooklet Georgia for the peanut festival and to visit with my 101 year old aunt and to see some cousins. We got there early, purchased some fresh cooked boiled peanuts. Then we went to see my cousin and pick some grapes. Went back to festival and purchased a six foot swing for the pond. It was handmade by a man and his whole family in a very small town in Georgia. They go around to all the festivals in the south and sell there chairs, tables and swings. Had to eat lunch and do a litle shopping and then to my aunts place, what a woman. She knows everything and her mind is better than most people a lot younger than her. She knows dates and names when family died or got married, knows all the names and birthdays for the whole family, she is my mamas oldest sister. Mama has only two sister still living out of 13. Saw another cousin and he wanted me to go by his house, he is a retired postmaster and does woodworking. His name is Sonny Boy, when we got there he gave us some bird feeders and two bluebird house. He made them all. He never sells anything, he gives everything he makes away to friends and family. Finally got back home at eight tonight, I hurt and tired as a over worked dog. I am going to take a few pills and hit the bed, Cat

I Almost Shit My Pants Today
I was working in my back yard this afternoon. Last night we had a wind storm, no rain just a lot of wind. It blew a lot of tree limbs out of the trees and I had to saw some of them up. They were just too large to move and set fire to all of them. I had the old lady on the Deere and I was walking beside it throwing those smaller limbs into the wagon that was on the Deere. I walked over a large snake and almost had a heart attack. When I found out it was a six foot long timber rattler, that is when I almost shit my pants. Nancy ran to the house and got me a shotgun, while I watched him. He was trying to get away. I shot him once in the back and almost cut him in half, he was still moving and trying to bite me. I then took my heavy bush hook and cut his head off and then I got the rattles. He had eight on his tail and he was six feet long and was as round as a softball. I picked him up with my rake and he weighed about twenty pounds, that was a big ass snake. I hate snakes, all snakes. I hope I will not dream about him tonight, Cat

My Brother Had His Operation
I went to Savannah this week, to see my brother before surgery. I made it just in time. We talked for a few and then his wife, daughter and me walked to the surgery room with him. I think they should have done this last week, two quacks wanted to wait, because they said his heart would not make it, the other two quacks wanted to do it last week, they all gave him four weeks to live about six weeks ago. He they could not remove the blockage he was going to die for sure and now he has another chance. Thomas came through it with flying colours, he is now in a room and may go home Monday. He had a hell of a week, his wife had a birthday and three days later, he has been married to that woman for 58 years. We will see what happens next. Thanks for all the nice emails and comments on Thomas, Cat

Everything Is Okay In Coastal Georgia
I have been fishing, cutting grass, p;anting trees and bushes. My brother is doing a little better, he is not yellow anymore. I have been seeing him every week. My family is fine. Grandkids are doing great and both of them are working this summer. Becky, my only grand daughter will have eye surgery next week. The fish are still biting very good. I have been working on my pond. I am cleaning all of the big grass and lillypads out. Been doing it by hand. I need to get a company with soe big machines to come a clear my island. I want so clean, that I can cut grass with my Deere. Last week we had some nice rains, I threw out about forty pounds of grass seed. I hope it comes up, if the wild birds do not eat it up. We have so many wild birds, I spend over a hundred dollars on bird feed each month. I saw two coons come into this world last week, cute, I have been feeding mama and the two babies each night. My four cats are fine and Toes goes fishing with me each and everyday, she thinks shes a dog. Another four foot gator bit the dust three days ago. I have not seen any snakes in weeks, I think I have them under control. I got to go and take a trip to grocery shop this afternoon. I just wanted to let you know about me and my chores are doing. Seen you later and be safe, Cat

I Have Been Missing In Action
My life has been full to the top lately. My sons are feeling and doing much better these and my brother, Thomas, is still hanging in there. I have been to Florida and Savannah each week for the last four weeks. My brother loves fresh veggies and fruit and I have been getting him some very nice ones. I almost take him too much each week. Thomas also loves my fresh eggs, I take a few dozens when I drive to see him. My back has been killing me and the work on my five acres is getting out of hand. I may start paying people to do my yards and around the pond. The fish are frowing and I try and catch some everyday. I still have not seen my grass eating carp lately. I know they are still in water and eating, the weeds and grass beds are getting smaller. I hope to write more in the near future, take care, Cat

Road Trip This Past Weekend
We drove to St. Augustine Florida this past weekend to see my only grandson walk down that graduation line Saturday. He made good grades and was also on the states wresting team. Tyler went to Texas this past year and came in seventh out of thousands in his weight class. It was a long hot trip, we left at five oclock in the morning, I had to be at my daughters house by nine. Three hundred and five was in his class and it took over two hours to finish them all up. Gas prices were over four dollars a gallon and when we got back home, our gas jumped twenty cents, this is getting people down and out. I have been catching fish in the early morning and late evenings, too damn hot in the middle of the day. Still killing snakes and coons. When you see coons in the middle of the day, they are usually sick. My grass has been attacked by moles, one cat loves to dig them up and play with them until they die. I need more cats like her. My brother is still hanging on, I will take that 120 drive tomorrow to see him. The whole family knows all about Thomas, I hope he will not have to suffer, I saw my Mama take five years to die. He wants to go fast, he talks about it all the time and said he is ready. Very brave man, I would be scared to death. I will keep you good people informed about Thomas, thanks again, Cat

Went To Savannah Again Today
I made the 120 trip to Savannah today, just to see my brother. He looks yellow, and I think he will not be here much longer. His heart is worn out. His wife, Ann, of some 50 years plus is trying to take care of him. Hospice still does not have a bed for him. I carried him some fresh fruit and eggs from my garden. He loves those fresh egtgs, big brown ones. While I was in Savannah, I did a little shopping at Home Depot. I got Nancy a new push cart for the yard and picked up some good dirt and cow shit. I have been planting trees for the last month and have only two left to go into the ground. My son Joey is doinf better with the death of his room mate. Take care, Cat
