Made In America My Ass

I purchased a new Ford full size truck last year. I took my truck into the dealer this morning again. Another fucking recall. We make shit anymore. This is why america is coming to an end. The price you pay for a new truck, you should never have anything to go wrong with it, the first few years. My truck has less than 10,000 miles and it lives in the shop. In the last few years, I have been buying Ford products and they make junk. I use to buy GM, but they made shit also. And Dodge and Plymouth, that went down hill many years ago. I think I am going to start buy Jap cars and trucks, they are built like we use to make cars. When I was at the dealer, I started fucking with a salesman, I took him about my two new Fords and he got mad, I don't know why, his shop was full of almost new cars and trucks being worked on. I stopped and got me a 100 crickets, I think I will go fishing today, Cat

  1. You got that right, Mr. Cat. Over the years, I've bought Cadillac's, Lincoln's and Expeditions. I've driven Toyota's off and on. I now own a Toyota van and a KIA. The first three vehicles I mentioned lived in the service department. The Toyota's never needed service before I traded them in, except for the required maintenance...not once. The KIA is a fantastic vehicle..has 60,000 miles on it already and not one problem..good looking car, great price and has a 7 year, 70,000 mile warranty.

  2. AND those Toyotas and Hondas are made right here in America...even though they are foreign brands. I've been to the plants that make them. My Toyota has been the best car I've ever owned. Wouldn't go back to the "American" brands!

  3. Speaking of plants that make Toyota's, Toyota invested $800M in a humongous, San Antonio plant a few years back. Should be open this year. If I lived in that area, I'd have bought a parcel nearby for a small service business of some sort and just watched it make money. I looked at it a few months ago and there was still land available. Building a small tract of affordable homes for the factory workers would have been a winner, since there isn't that much housing nearby. Couldn't lose with that many people working in the area.

  4. I happen to make Honda trucks, vans and cars here in the US. There is more American content in most of our vehicles than a lot of the Big Three. I'm proud of the product we make and drive nothing but a Honda myself. (and I also get paid in American dollars, not yen)

  5. Well Cat, I guess I've owned most every American made truck there is at one time or another. I've always found Chevys to be the best. I drove Fords when I was young and they pretty much were worthless if they were made after the 70s. The old Dodge Power Wagons were damn good trucks back then too. I have stuck with Chevys since about 1980. Never had any problems. I have a 2002 Silverado that has over 50,000 on it. It has never been to the shop except for oil changes and lube. I just put new tires on it. It still runs as good as a brand new one. The Chevys are a bit expensive compared to other trucks though.

  7. I don't know, my old honda (82) was great, 280k miles on it, but the new one I bought was nothing but trouble and the Honda dealer really f*cked me over. Now I have a Ford SUV and I love it, no problems at all at about 30k, which I've put on in a year & a half. I drive a lot.

  8. Best new car I ever had was a Toyota...everyone of my family (mom, dad, sis & bro) has owned and been happy with Toyotas.

  9. Your right of course, I've owned them all. I have a 94 Jeep that I have had the exhaust manifold off 3 times due to cracks, this time I replaced the manifold with one made in China, it has a lifetime warrantee and is of heavier guage Stainless steel. Also my old Ford F250 Diesel has had a mint put into it, first off the original paint job lasted just longer than the warrantee before it peeled, both prop shafts and the front wheel bearings failed in less than 10,000 miles, I've had the old gal since '86 and have all the factory bugs out of it. Like you I'm looking at a Jap car (pickup) as my next vehicle. There is no such thing as an American automaker anymore, they're all in collusion with foreign owners and the UAW rips off around 30% of the price in welfare benefits.

  10. 2000 Toyota Tacoma. Total dollars spent for repair in six years time? Zero. Made in California by a Japanese company. Used to buy Fords. Got fed up with quality and haven't looked back. The Big Three got too fat and happy for their own good pure and simple. Now they're paying the price (literally).

  11. Currently have a 2003 Ford F-150 FX-4 (bought new) that is a piece of sh**. The rear went out at 13,000 miles. I don't drive it a lot since I also have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4 X 4 that (other than two recalls) hasn't missed a lick. Everyone I know that have been Ford truck Loyal are now buying Dodge trucks. I guess Ford is giving all of their money to Je$$ie Jack$on and the Gay union outfits so they don't have any left to improve their vehicles. There is a big boycott of Ford in progress by some of the family oriented organizations. I don't have to participate because I won't buy another anyway.
